We had a wonderful trip to the UP this weekend to get more planning details complete for the wedding. I am really stating to see everything come together and just keep getting more and more excited for the big day!

We drove up Friday night leaving behind 50 degrees and sunshine in Chicago to meet snow falling right before we got into Bill's hometown. The main purpose of this trip was to meet our photographer and have an engagement photo session...outside... she called me Friday to firm up our plans and reported that all of Escanaba's snow had melted and we would be in great shape to take the pictures! Spoke to soon! We woke up that morning to several inches on the ground. Gotta love the great white north!

We met our photographer, Danielle Carol, at local Escanaba restaurant Hereford and Hops to discuss the big day and get to know one another. We selected Danielle as out photographer after seeing her amazing work on her website but had never met her until this meeting. We all hit it off right away and had a great time posing for pictures around downtown Escanaba. (Even if we were freezing!) We spent quite a bit of time getting to know Danielle and discussing how things would go on the wedding day. She also helped us put together a rough time line for the pre-wedding activities because we are planning on haivng most of our photos taken before we get the show started. We are really looking forward to seeing the engagement pictures in print and know that the wedding pictures are going to be just what we were looking for.

After our "photo shoot" was done, we headed over to our dj's house for some more planning. Mitch Taylor of Taylored Entertainment is way more than a dj, he is our WED - Wedding Entertainment Director! We spent about 2 and a half hours at Mitch's place planning out the wedding day timeline, cues, special songs, special moments, etc. He really helped us start shaping the day into our own.

We were both very impressed that Danielle and Mitch have both offered to meet us next time we are in town to plan the details of the ceremony at the Terrace. I know they probably do it for everyone, but it is really nice to work with people who treat you as more than just a "one day" client. They are both committed to making the day go off without a hitch and make it as special as we hope it will be.
